Donald W. Brown is the assistant librarian and the assistant bibliographer at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation. He received his B.A. in music from Saint Vincent College and a master's in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. His responsibilities at the Institute include cataloging, reference, serials control, interlibrary loan, and records maintenance. He assists in research into the systematic bibliography of descriptive and taxonomic botany, especially within the Classical period (1730–1840), including general research in taxonomic botany. His personal interests include reading, composition, photography, and writing.
